Matterhorn Museum – Zermatlantis
The Matterhorn Museum – Zermatlantis – can be found at the centre of Zermatt. Take advantage of the opportunity to introduce your seminar participants to the village and its rich history. The distinctive glass dome on the Kirchplatz square was built in 2006, and houses the museum as well as a staged archaeological excavation. A sunken village with 14 walk-in houses takes you back in time to around 1865, the year of the dramatic first ascent of the Matterhorn peak. Triumph and tragedy were close companions in this mountaineering feat – museum exhibits include the torn rope from the first ascent and other historic artefacts.
The museum is also a great venue if you wish to conclude your seminar with a tasty aperitif.
