Experience alphorn sounds and Schwyzerörgeli music up close. Welcome to the 53rd Folklore Festival in Zermatt. The second weekend in August is once again all about tradition and folklore. This year, too, a special weekend is planned – but in its original form, as it once was more than 50 years ago, on a small scale. Around 30 groups will show their skills and transform the village into a colourful backdrop of traditional costumes, dances and music. The highlight? The big parade through Zermatt on Saturday afternoon. Musical folklore amidst the Valais mountain scenery – an experience for the eyes and ears.

Have you always wanted to blow an alphorn yourself? An alphornist will introduce you to this great tradition and tell you how to elicit sounds from the alphorn. Soon you will be able to play different melodies. Alphorn blowing as a typical Swiss team event – simply enquire here info@miceservice.ch.
